#AD. This post is in conjunction with Boots UK but all thoughts are my own.
For those of us lucky enough to experience a special mother figure or figures in our lives, Mother's Day is the perfect chance to take an extra moment out to celebrate them and all the wonderful things they do for us.
Mother-figures could be Mums, Step-Mums, Mother's-in-law, Grandmothers, special Aunts, Grandmother-type-figures, Godmothers or any other significant special mother-figure who is there unconditionally, guiding, supporting and generally being a rock throughout the up and down days.
And that's not forgetting yourself if you too are a Mum, as us Mums definitely need to celebrate ourselves and give ourselves a pat on the back more often than we do. We juggle and hold so much together and despite most of us feeling like we rarely know if we're getting parenting right, the fact that we ask ourselves that question, implies that we probably are. After all there's no manual to raising children, we can only do our best!
Family, to me, has always meant more than sharing the same genes and being biologically connected. Family to me, is made up of the special people in my life, those who make an effort to be there through the highs and lows together. They are the people you tell when you have good news and the same people you call when you're having a tough time. And you'd be there and do the same for them.
