Firstly thank you for all the lovely comments on my first baby #2 bump update (15 weeks), it's so lovely to have people following along with my pregnancy journey. It truly means a lot to me.
Today is Thursday and I am currently 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Today I had my second midwife appointment, I had really been looking forward to it in the hope that I'd get to listen to baby's heartbeat and luckily enough I was able to. (I've heard that some midwives won't check the babies heartbeat at the 16 week appointment anymore, luckily mine did, but if yours doesn't, I've heard you can insist and that it usually works, so worth a try if yours is coming up?).
Hearing the babies heartbeat has put me in such a great mood, I worried my way through my pregnancy with Ethan and I'm finding myself doing the same with this one too. So any reassurance that all is okay makes me feel so incredibly happy and of course, lucky.
Symptom wise I've had pains in my stomach, which my midwife thinks is simply growing pains mixed with the fact that my muscles are still split from having Ethan (she says I will have to have physio after this baby and may have to wear a band on my stomach by the time I see her next) . I've also had heartburn, headaches and have been feeling dizzy due to a naturally low blood pressure made worse by being pregnant. And of course, the ever present exhaustion is well, just that..very much present!
Everything feels more squished in my stomach now and I'm sure it didn't feel like this at 16 weeks with Ethan? Things seem different second time around, but they do say that every pregnancy and labour is different don't they?!
Other than that I am excited for the scan at 20 weeks and so very excited at the whole concept of being a family of four this year.
