Last week we decided to head back to one of our favourite National Trust Gardens - Stowe, for a picnic and a day out. We are National Trust members and so it felt like a good way to have a pretty much free day out together whilst enjoying the beautiful sunshine that we've had in the UK lately.
Stowe is one of our favourite places to visit because there's so just so much to see there. The gardens are huge and there's different monuments and tucked away places to see. It's one of the most pretty National Trust places, especially so in the Summer. We're lucky to have it just on our doorstep!
We actually went with my Mother in Law this time, and it was lovely to take her with us. I made a pasta salad the day before for us so that we could have a bit of a picnic. We found a bench with a view in the shade and it was a perfect spot to sit and have our lunch.
It always amazes me how much land there is at Stowe and what's even more incredible is that it would have once just belonged to a single family. That's hard to get your head around when you see how much land and space it would have been for them. Stowe House is now an independent school, with the gardens and the park owned by the National Trust. If you've never been to Stowe, I totally recommended it, especially during the summer. Take a picnic with you and enjoy, because it's almost like stepping into another world!
Thank you for reading.
