Hello 2019 - My Own Personal Goals For The Year Ahead

Happy new year everyone! Can you believe that we're here in January already - starting a brand new year?! 2018 was a year full of mostly happy memories for us. I mean, we’ve had some some downs for sure. Like with the fact that I spent a lot of the year suffering and worrying about my health and then we lost a large chunk of money when our gardener/builder decided to run away and not finish the job. And then more recently of course, Charlie our cat, broke his leg and had to have it amputated after months of us trying to save it for him.

But, we’ve also had some amazing highs like a trip to Disneyland Paris in March which we loved so much. And like renovating our home and (despite the trouble with the builder) having it all finished for Christmas. We also took a big family trip to Cornwall and then Adam and I celebrated turning 30 with a trip the spa and then also a couples trip to Dubrovnik which was incredible. We’ve also celebrated personal work achievements and goals and both feel so thankful for the fact that we’ve been able to work for ourselves for yet another year which we love doing.

But most of all we’re ending 2018, like we do each day, feeling thankful for the simple fact that we’re lucky enough to have each other and to have our health and our happiness. Because when all is said and done, that’s what matters the most isn’t it?!

Hello 2019 - My Own Personal Goals For The Year Ahead

I am the sort of person who likes to reflect as a habit and on a general basis, but I always feel like the start of a new year is an especially prominent time to reflect and set goals for the months ahead. I'm not a 'new year, new me' sort of person - I prefer rather to be happy with the person I already am and know that even when things didn't/don't go to plan that I at least tried. There's always room for improvement and that's what these goals are about for me and with that in mind these are some of my own personal goals for the months ahead:

  • More self-belief and confidence, less guilt!
  • Think less, do more. Less over thinking!
  • Make time for mindfulness and relaxation to help keep anxiety at bay.
  • Make a conscious effort to choose more vegan options
  • Volunteer some time at a cat shelter
  • Learn to type with all fingers
  • Get more creative with my DSLR
  • Be more organised with my blog and youtube content, plan ahead and schedule.
  • Get a bbq for the garden and have a summer bbq.
  • Be more patient and less easily stressed
  • Be less grumpy when I wake up
  • Make a photo album of our favourite photos and memories
  • Help Adam get to a show next year to show off his LEGO creations
  • Plan and be organised for our family holiday to Florida in October 2020.
  • Look into potentially visiting Denmark
  • Book in another trip for us for this year. We're going to Cyprus in June but I'd like to book something else in too.
  • Start making a habit of reading
  • Learn to slow down and to panic less in all aspects of my life - you've got this!
  • Visit Hampton Court Palace (already done), Tower Of London, and Kensington Palace with Royal Historic membership that I got for Christmas.
  • Visit Westminister Abbey
  • Go to a concert/something live with Adam (seeing Eminem live or something like an orchestra or a West End show would be AMAZING!)
  • Create and save for a safety net for the future.
  • Be more confident on camera, talk slower, believe in myself and don't panic!
  • Nurture my blog, not just YT and Instagram.
  • Take the boys to Hever Castle.
  • Stay over at Legoland or visit it again at least.
  • Continue to laugh daily and keep a positive outlook (cut out any negativity) it's the best way to be!
  • Turn YouTube into a more equal earner alongside my blog
  • Play even more with the boys and remember that jobs can always be done later (they're not important in the grand scheme of things).
  • Plan lots of days out through Spring and Summer and enjoy lots of family time. It's the best sort of time!
What are your goals for the year ahead? I'd love to know what sorts of things you've set for yourself/for your family?

Thank you for reading.

  2. Reading is on my list too - I've really struggled to read much in the past few years and I would like that to change. I hope you manage to achieve most, if not all, of your personal goals for 2019.
