Wow, where has July gone?

And why do the months feel like they are speeding up?

I cannot quite get my head around the fact that tomorrow will be August, it feels so much like we're just speeding right on towards the end of the year. 

I have to say that I feel a little bit cheated - we're in the middle of our Summer here in the UK, but for July it feels like we've had such a mix of on and off days when it comes to the weather. I was sort of hoping to have put the coats and the jumper away until Autumn time, but that hasn't happened at all. It feels like most days I end up changing the boys at least two or three times a day - from shorts, to jeans, to t-shirts, to jumpers. And when we leave the house, it's do I take the umbrella or the sun protection? I've realised the answer is always, both! 

These pictures were taken in June, so I'm sort of cheating here, but it was the very last day of June and it was little Logan's second birthday. Whipsnade Zoo has the most amazing views over Dunstable Downs, so we couldn't resist taking a few snaps there.

I had intended on heading over to the lavender fields for a mini family photoshoot as there are some not too far from us, but a mixture of a lack of time and some bad weather meant that we didn't get around to it. But we might try in August if the lavender is still OK.

We've done a fair few fun things in July like visit Hampton Court Palace and go to an airshow. We've also planted some seeds in the garden, made a summer bucket list, we've visited the farm, the library, gone to the park, played board games and done mess-free painting amongst lots of fun other things.

We have lots planned for August and we're hoping to get a bit more sunshine as a few of the things that we have planned are outdoor-based. And then in September we will be going on a family holiday to Greece which we're all looking really forward to. :)
