Seventh Generation #ComeClean Review & Hamper Giveaway

Is it slightly mad that I enjoy cleaning? I think it's the satisifcation of the end result with getting to see nice, clean shiny surfaces when I'm done. I've always tended to go for more natural sorts of cleaning products where I can mostly because I feel that they're a lot safer for using around the kids and I will typically buy products if they state they arent tested on animals for obvious reasons, but I'm not always as hot on this as I should and would like to be. 

For the past few weeks I've been trying out Seveneth generation's cleaning products, a brand that is actually new to the UK and so new to me, but is already really well established and loved in the United States. Available to buy at Tesco, all of their products are plant-based and have been formulated over the past 25 years. And because Seventh generation products contain only natural ingredients they are safe to use around children and pets, which is great for us with our two young boys and our three cats. 

One of the most exciting things for me was realising how much there is in their range, from washing up liquid, to toilet cleaner, as well as washing laundry detergent for sensitive skin, glass cleaner and an all purpoise cleaner, with even more of a choice over on their website. 

As a Mum, the product I probably use the most has to be the all purpose cleaner. I feel like I am forever cleaning up after my two often messy little boys and their many snack and meal times. It's amazing how much seems to get spilt, how many crumbs there are daily and how much can get stuck in between different cracks on Logan's booster seat. It's reasurring to know that the cleaner I am using to clean up after them is natural and safe to use around them.

Another thing I feel is forever on my 'daily to do' list is clean the mirrors and the windows in the house. And whilst I have to admit that part of me does think tiny hand prints on the mirrors and on the living room windows is a little bit cute, it can quickly get to the point where I am struggling to actually see myself in the mirror anymore. ;) But Seventh generation's glass and surface cleaner has been amazing for leaving our glass and window surfaces streak-free and clean again.

Their wash liquid has been brilliant too - we have a dishwasher, but we always end up with bits left over on our side that need washing up, like Ethan's lunch box from pre-school and things like wine glasses and certain mugs. It works in exactly the same way as other washing up liquid brands in that it is just as powerful and makes just as many bubbles, but it works without the need for additional fragrances or dyes.



We've also been using their natural toilet bowl cleaner and again have found it just as powerful as other non plant-based brands. Even Adam commented the other day on how well he thought it worked (which is something!).

And lastly we've been trying out their natural laundry detergents and have so far been really impressed. The scent of the lavender eucalyptus one is made from 100% essential oils and botanical extracts and has no synthetic fragrances, dyes or artificial brighteners in it. And their free and clear one is the same, but is targeted more towards those who have sensitive skin.

We're really impressed with Seventh generation, the biggest draw for me is that the products are safe around the boys and the cats, as well as being cruelty-free. And I also really like that they are just as powerful as other brands that I have used, but of course more natural.
