Our plans for our kitchen makeover that was going to happen around now-ish, are now on hold. We're now exploring the idea of adding a two storey side extension on to our home which we'd be looking at having done around the same time as the kitchen. So this means that whilst we enquire about whether or not the side extension can be done and whilst we embark on some serious saving, everything else has been put on hold too and that includes our living room, our back garden, our front door and some other bits and pieces that we'd quite like to do to our home.
The garden is a mess, it's not as bad as it could be, but still - it's a mess. The living room isn't so bad, it's actually quite a nice place to relax and there's not a major amount that we really want to change about it. The wooden floor needs attention it's scratched (a lot) and has faded a little bit too and we think that we'd quite like to have a few bits painted in there including the walls. Whether or not we will get around to having it painted before any further major renovations are done, I'm not sure. It's a big possibility as it would be nice to finish off a room that doesn't need much to be finished off, if that makes sense.
Recently we had the opportunity to work with Desenio again, we worked with them last year on this post: "Around our Home: Choosing our prints & frames" and we're now huge fans of their prints and frames, we're aiming to only have their frames up in our house by replacing old ones. We decided that this time around that we we're going to add some posters and prints in frames to our living room wall above our sofa, where we previously had a large picture hanging that we'd bought from IKEA years and years ago. We decided that if we are going to have to wait for a while longer for a 'finished look', we'd at least make a small, easy change that would give us more of the scandi/modern feel that we'd quite like in there.
Everything we chose means something to us and whilst I think a lot of it is pretty obvious as to why such as the photographs and the quote, we also chose things like the bear with the forest because as a family we have a great sense of adventure - we love to explore and find new places and we're also big animal lovers, which is why we also picked out the paw prints poster.
I really would recommend Desenio to anyone who loves and/or is looking for Scandinavian style prints and posters or to anyone who is just on the look-out for good quality frames online. We've been so pleased both times around now and we're always impressed with how carefully packaged everything arrives.

We decided to go for a mix of some of our favourite photographs as well as some posters that we really liked and a quote that summed up what we love most about our home. We chose black frames as we're huge fans of the neutral / white and bright home decor look in general, so we feel black frames work best in terms of contrasting it, as white against white might may have looked a bit washed out.
We're so pleased with how it looks - it's very different and it's so much more 'us'. We're heavily in to the Scandinavian home decor style and look and we feel that our new wall of frames adds much more of a modern touch then the previously picture frame that we had hanging there did.

These look great. I've been spending my evenings browsing the Internet for quotes and frames for our house. Since moving house we've got lots to do X
