I'll be 30 in under two years and that seems a little bit crazy to me.. I'm really not saying that 30 is old, I don't think it is. But I just don't feel anywhere near 30. When I was a 10 year old little girl I thought that 18 was so mature .. and now look at me.. I'm ten years past there!
I've never ever sat down and written a list of goals for myself, I'm not sure why. It's just not something I've ever done. I think (unfortunately) I tend to keep a lot of things in my head instead. But I think I've reached a point in my life where I am looking to the future (whilst still enjoying the present). Becoming a Mother has helped me to realise who I am and what I want from life so much more and whilst finding things I love and that make me happy was the start, growing those things and working on them are what make up my goals.
So for the first time ever I've written a list of ten goals for the next 12 months, the list only covers the basics, it doesn't cover how I want to reach those goals, but it already feels so much better to have at least my main goals written down.

Goals for the next 12 months..
1. I'd like to finish the house. Adam and I have discussed getting the kitchen re-done next year (hopefully early next year).
2. I'd like to also get the back garden done. It's a bit of a mess and really could do with a makeover, I'd love to be able to get new paving slabs, artificial grass laid and a perhaps a cosy decking area put in in the corner towards the back. I'd love to get this done next year too.
3. I'd like to upgrade our family car. I love our car, but it would be nice to sell it and upgrade this or next year.
4. I'd like to grow my blog some more. I'd really like to increase my page views and my readership. To do this, I know I am going to need to set out a plan and work hard on it.
5. I'd like to grow my YouTube channel, I've been making videos regularly for over a year now and I'm really starting to get into it now. I want to make more and more motherhood related content and really grow an audience who I can connect with.
6. I'd like to go back to Walt Disney World. We had the amazing opportunity to visit Walt Disney World in Florida back in February after being invited on a press trip, it was the most incredible experience and we are all desperate to go back. This is something we have talked about to perhaps plan for just under two years time, but I'm including it here as it would be great to have it all booked in. I wasn't aware of them before, but I just came across Disney cruises via iglucruise and oh my goodness they look amazing too!
7. I'd like to continue to overcome my travel and my on-camera anxiety. This is something I already feel like I'm improving- my youtube channel and my regular vlogging has massively helped me to feel more confident and less anxious about being on camera, I've noticed big changes recently with feeling more relaxed when vlogging out and about. My travel anxiety is still bad, but I went to London by myself earlier this year and I have another trip where I will be taking the train alone for a few hours planned for soonish and then I have a mega huge trip planned which if I can do it, involves me leaving the country without my family. I can't think too much about it at the moment, but if I do do it I will be so proud.
8. I'd like to get more active. I feel quite unfit. I very rarely do any exercise and I don't feel good about it. I feel like it effects my energy levels and I know I need to work on adding exercise to my life.
9. I'd like to get more organised. I've started writing lists of things I need to do and I sometimes use a planner, which is something I never used to do. I think it's better to have things written down in lists or in a planner rather than keep things in my head, so I need to stick at that and get better at it too.
10. I'd like to chill out a bit more. Not in the lazy sense, but in the emotional sense, sometimes I get worked up too easily, or I over think things or think things are bigger than they are. I need to relax and know that 'I got this' so much more.
And so that's my list! My 10 goals for the next 12 months!

DeleteGood luck with achieving all these goals. Honestly, you wouldn't you'd had anxiety issues watching your videos regularly. I don't think I would ever start blogging. Not just because of anxiety but also because there will be a lot pauses I think.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at the Disney cruise for nearly a year now and it looks really appealing to me. I am turning 30 in exactly 4 months. Do I feel like it? No, I feel more like 20 Haha
Ah thank you Janine! :) That's kind of you to say! I think, like you, I'll always feel about 20 hehe! x
