If you're a frequent reader of my blog or if you follow me over on my YouTube channel you'll probably be aware that we've been making a lot of exciting changes to our home recently, including converting our loft into a brand new bedroom and en-suite for Adam and I.
Things are going really well, the conversion is finally finished and all of the bedrooms are getting there in terms of those last few final touches, it's honestly so nice seeing it all come together and being able to enjoy the rooms at last. We're VERY excited to share the finished rooms with you all! :)
During the work it wasn't always easy to live with, but we love having a nice home for us as a family to live in and for the boys to grow up in so for us it was totally worth the stressful days and the times we just desperately wanted our house back to ourselves. We're not quite ready yet, we need time to breathe and let ourselves enjoy all of the hard work we've put in to the top half of the house (as well as re-save), but next on the list is the kitchen and the back garden and some additional touches to the living room. It's going to be a lot of work and more disruption, but we think it'll be worth it.
We'd love to brighten up the kitchen, we're a big fan of white (even as parents to two little boys!) and Adam and I both have a good idea of what our dream kitchen would look like. We'd love an American style fridge freezer - our current fridge-freezer is built in and the freezer is the tiniest freezer probably in existence (seriously) and not really any good for our family of four.
If we had to pick, our favourite item in our kitchen has got to be our dishwasher, it's the first home we've had that we've had one in and I can't believe how much time it saves. I can't even imagine washing up these days - we seem to all create so much washing up and as busy parents we need all of the time-saving devices we can get. Plus, who actually likes washing up anyway?! ;)
This survey by Beko says that nearly half of the people they asked said that their fridge-freezer was their favourite kitchen appliance, but I'm going to go for the dishwasher - although in reality I suppose if I'm being ultra-practical about it, the fridge- freezer is probably a bit of a necessity!
The thought of having the kitchen done is an amazing one. Though the thought of the work that needs to be done to have the kitchen done, is not so nice. Have you or anyone you know had your/their kitchen done? How long did it take? Do you have any tips or pieces of advice for having a new kitchen put in when you have little ones to take care of and to feed?

We had a new kitchen when our youngest was around 9 months old. I just tried to be out of the house as much as possible during the day, taking up residence in my mums or close friends house. It took around 3 weeks to finish (with no building work or alterations to the room). That was 9 years ago now and I would love to redo our kitchen again as it looks a little dated x
