So it's been a little while between this update and my last I know and I apologise about that. It's been quite go go go as I'm sure you can imagine and we've all been ill at the same time too - I have found it hard to want to film a little video sounding so rough, but I now have and I've took some photos too!
So the biggest change of all is that we now have a working en suite! We decided to get the whole room tiled as we felt it looked more modern and we love love love the modern look! We're really pleased with the bathroom, it's come out exactly as we wanted it to! But obviously we still need to add our own little touches to it, like a mirrored cabinet, perhaps a frame and things like that.
All of the plastering was completed last week - two of the bedrooms that we're decorating downstairs also had to plastered because when the walls were stripped they were a bit of a state. But it's all finished now and painting actually started today! We're having the walls painted a just off white colour so I'll show you that in my next update.
The spindles for the stairs have started to go in and once finished will be painted. Both flights of stairs will be carpeted and the carpet on the landing and in all of the rooms will be replaced with a laminate flooring that we've picked out.
This is our little hallway as we come up the stairs to the new conversion.
This is looking back at the entrance to the room. The radiator has gone in and obviously all the walls are now in place too. We've even had our first fire door go in. All of the doors in our house are being replaced with fire doors as per safety regulations. They look exactly the same as our old ones, but they are heavier. Luckily fire doors no longer have to be self-closing or I'd be very worried about the boys' little fingers!
One thing I love the most about this room are the velux windows - they bring in so much light!
This is what what was our study looks like currently! It will eventually be Logan's bedroom. We've had too move all of Adam's stock and our working space downstairs in to our kitchen!
And this is Ethan's current bedroom, all ready and waiting to be decorated.
We're about 2-3 weeks off now as obviously with the bedrooms being re-decorated we're doing more than just the loft conversion itself. The end is in sight and soon it'll be time to start accessorising - unless we run out of money before then of course! ;) x
Oh wow, looks like so much work! Where are Ethan and Logan sleeping while its all happening? I don't know how you're managing! It will be worth it in the end of course but it must be so stressful with all the work going on! xx
ReplyDeleteLogan is sleeping in a travel cot in our room and Ethan is sleeping in his room still in is cot (I was stood in front of his cot in the photo). It is a lot of work and a little stressful but we're getting through it, it will so nice and worth it when finished. x
