Have family meal times fallen off the menu in your home? Between after-school clubs, working late, socialising and daily chores, sitting around the dinner table together could be as rare a sighting as the Gruffalo! But the benefits are undeniable.
In a recent post by Female First, it’s claimed that eating dinner together as a family five nights a week helps to build and maintain relationships and can even help your children perform better in school. Even the Prime Minister is a fan. Just last year, David Cameron wanted to use family meal times as a national measure of happiness in the Office of National Statistics’ Wellbeing Report.

Our family is lucky in that we get to eat dinner together most nights, with the exception of two evenings a week, as my Husband Adam usually works two late shifts a week. I am so grateful to be able to do that, as I do think it's important to be able to sit down as a family and eat dinner. It's a time in the day when everything else has to kind of come to a stop for a little while. Which I feel as a family, we really need, as a lot of the time other things tend to feel so rushed.
