Before now I was never really that sure when it came to moses baskets.. I didn't know if I liked the way that they looked compared to the more modern style of cribs that you can buy these days. I wasn't sure if they were practical. I wasn't sure if we really needed one or if they were worth the money. I didn't really give them a chance when I had Ethan, instead opting for a simple inexpensive white crib, which lived next to our bed and which, to be fair, did us well.
Before Logan was born, I was contacted by Izziwotnot who sent me over details of their wicker moses baskets. The moment I first saw the images of their baskets, my whole idea of moses baskets somehow not being nearly as modern as some cribs completely vanished. I was instantly attracted to the serene style, snug look and smart design, with a particular fondness towards their brand new limited edition soft grey colour and the pure white colour (pictured) which we now have. When it arrived, I was even more in love, it really is more beautiful then the images show. The soft padding, natural cotton and hood canopy make this basket feel and look premium.
Logan sleeps in his basket throughout the day and continually looks snug, comfortable and content inside of it. Not only is it a truly beautiful moses basket, one that has totally changed my mind on how moses baskets can suit both modern or traditional home interiors, but it is practical too - as we move between rooms, so too does Logan in his basket, whilst he's asleep inside of it at least. For me that's one of the great things that I've learned owning a moses basket for your baby allows for - the ability to pick up and take the basket with you without disturbing your baby whilst they sleep. It's being able to have somewhere to lay them down in each room, even being able to take them with you to the bathroom whilst you shower if needs be.
I feel totally and utterly sold by the concept of moses baskets now, even after just eleven days with Logan. I like that I have somewhere safe to put Logan at all times and in any room, we tend to use the basket without the stand a lot of time, as despite as extra beautiful as it does look on the stand, we feel it is much safer rested on the floor, with his big brother around most of the time. This basket, truly is particularly beautiful and incredibly hard to fault, if at all. I am therefore totally happy to recommend this here on my blog to any new parents or parents-to-be who are on the look out for a moses basket for their own little one.
