Top 5 Shows Actually Worth Watching

I actually don't really watch that much television. Pre-being a parent I used to watch a lot more,  but now I sort of find it hard to find the time. Plus the television seems to be mostly dominated by a mix of Peppa Pig, Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom and the rest of Nick JR these days. There's a new boss of the TV remote in town and he's pretty ruthless, so I pretty much only get the evenings when I'm in bed to catch up the on the few shows I actually enjoy and even then I have to plan my day around catching an episode of something as blogging tends to dominate most of my evenings lately. I'm feeling pretty dominated right about now.. but I can't really complain being dominated by my Son and my blog is a pretty good combo! ;)

I'm one of those people that when I get into something, I really do get into it and I want to sit and watch episode after episode. Though, as I'm sure you can guess, that never gets to happen anymore. Which is I suppose actually a bit of a good thing as it forces me to have a little patience and space the episodes out, which means I always have something exciting to look forward to.

tv shows worth watching, top series',

Right now I have a few favourite shows that I just cannot get enough of. Here are what I think are the top five TV shows worth watching..

1. Game of Thrones

I CANNOT tell you how much I love Game of ThronesIt is honestly the best thing I have ever watched, even better than any film I have ever seen! If you haven't seen it yet, (why not?!) it's a fantasy drama adapted from George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels - the main plot follows a civil war among several noble houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. So much happens every single episode and just when you think you've got an episode or character figured out, you'll be left draw-droppingly stunned. It honesty just never disappoints, it's one of those rare series' that just gets better and better as time goes on, yet at the same time has you hooked from the very first episode!

Psst.. If you're also a bit of a super-fan like my Husband and I are.. My Voucher Codes have done some research into the current death toll for Games of Thrones; which includes the deadliest characters, total on-screen deaths and most bereaved families.. which you can read about here! It's a very interesting read actually (especially if you're half as much of a Game of Thrones geek like me)! ;)

2. The Walking Dead

My second favourite series has to be The Walking Dead. I got into this late, as I did with Game of Thrones actually. In fact, come to think about it - I've got into all my favourite shows late. The Walking Dead is an American horror drama starring Andrew Lincoln as sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma to find an apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating zombies, called "walkers". He goes on to set about trying to find his family in the first season and the rest of the story starts to unfold from there, getting better and better as time goes on. It is again, just an absolutely amazing series!

3. Homeland

I only discovered Homeland whilst searching online for good shows to watch on Netflix as I wanted something that would keep me as hooked and get me as excited as the last series I'd watched (Breaking Bad - below)had. I read the plot and decided to give it a go and was literally addicted from there.. The series stars Claire Danes as a Central Intelligence Agency officer who has bipolar disorder and Damian Lewis who plays United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper, who is believed to have been "turned" by the enemy after being held captive and who is then in turn thought to be a threat to the United States. It's a show that draws you in, then keeps you guessing - it's brilliant!

4. Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad was not something I thought I would have liked as much as I did. But as most people will tell you, it is absolutely awesome! It tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), who is a struggling high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, who, together with his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), turns to a life of crime to secure his family's financial future before he dies. It's a brilliant plot and I personally love the way the whole thing was made from start to finish. For me, it's what makes it so addictive.

5. Better Call Saul

I have literally just got into Better Call Saul a few weeks ago. I wasn't really that bothered about watching it when I first heard about it and I only agreed to watch it as my Husband wanted to see it. But I am so glad that I gave it a chance, as I am really loving it so far! It is a spin-off of Breaking Bad, created by the same person and is about a small-time lawyer - James Morgan "Jimmy" McGill (Bob Odenkirk), six years before his appearance on Breaking BadBob Odenkirk is a really fantastic actor and his character just seems to get more and more interesting as each episode goes on. Definitely worth a watch - especially if you're a Breaking Bad fan!

What are your favourite shows to watch?
I'd love to know if you have got any different recommendations?
