I never thought I'd be able to fit a dressing table in to our bedroom when we moved, but being the masters of squeezing as much out of a room that we possibly can, we actually managed to fit one in!
We brought the IKEA MALM dressing table (£95) and I have to say it has been brilliant - there's lot of space on the top for a mirror (we still need to buy the one we have our eye on!) and for make up brush holders, pots, acrylic storage and other bits and pieces. I, of course, felt instantly drawn to the colour - white is my favourite colour as many of you know and the modern glass top is very 'me'!
There's also lots of space inside the drawer too. I keep some of my loose beauty products and make up inside there and do my best to keep it organised and not a complete mess! A great place to buy beauty products from is JustMyLook , I always find that they offer really affordable prices on some the of top leading beauty brands and a free delivery service too!
I'm really into acrylic storage and the one that lives on my dressing table is from BHS (one of my favourite homeware stores) and was actually quite cheap! Acrylic storage, in my opinion, always looks amazing and is great for storing lots of little bits in - like make-up! I have a selection of my current, most worn, nail polishes, my favourite foundation and then my make up brushes in the back. I currently use the bottom drawer of it for my everyday jewellery.
The separators inside the drawer are actually mini-drawers from a set that we had. You know those set of 3 or 5 plastic mini-drawers you can buy super-cheap.. well I just took them apart and used them inside of my dressing table drawer to separate different types of make-up.
These two books which I have sitting on my dressing table at the moment, are great for having a flick through when I need a little inspiration and a quick pick me up. I brought them for really cheap off of Amazon after seeing them on Zoellas blog.
My cream dressing table stool is from Country Baskets. I've said before that I like the mix of modern decor with the sort of shabby chic look and I find that this stool works perfectly with my modern dressing table to give the effect that I really like.
Lovely! We have a similar dressing table which I bought for the same price on eBay. I had been using it as a desk until recently but moved it into our room now to make room in the spare room for the nursery. I wish i could leave all my bits on the top though, as Amelia just takes it all off and throws then everywhere! ahha x
ReplyDeleteGosh Alex you are soooo tidy, 5 minutes of me in there and it would be chaos x

Ahhh what a beautiful place to get ready. I love white too. With kids it's so hard but I go white anyways. I love that your facing the window for natural light too. My only downfall of my dressing table is that the only place I could fit it in our spare room on the side that gets no light from the window at all. Hard on winter days to see what I am putting on my face. I am sure there are clown days. Hahaha beautiful. Come decorate my house for me. Lol
