Have you ever suffered a broken heart? If so, you certainly aren’t the only one. It’s the subject of a million books, poems and love songs, and with a heart being broken every 17 minutes, it’s not hard to see why!
But is heartbreak really something that affects us physically? Or is it just an emotion that we allow ourselves to indulge in?
Heartbreak is something that’s touched so many of us and research shows that one broken heart can cause as much damage to our health as smoking for 2.5 years! Shocking isn't it?

Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteI think it's part of life for everyone that we'll have a broken heart at some point.
Maybe due to a death - even of a pet, or a loved one. Classically due to relationship break up.
If you love, you are bound also to feel pain at some point. It's how you deal with it that shapes your future, too.
I'd agree with Benenden Health's last point above all - exercise, in whatever form, is a great healer for many ailments!
Enjoying your blog -
Emma. :-)
